SHORT STORIES by FYODOR DOSTOYEVSKY (11 November 1821 - 9 February 1881) .
Here is a neat collection of short stories by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, with 9 different stories from the Russian Classics, Dostoyevsky's style of narration is sure to transport your imagination to the 19th Century Russia and back. This collection has some famous stories like 'Another Man's Wife' ,The Honest Thief , Dream of the Ridiculous Man and 6 more riveting, surprising and amazing stories which is guaranteed to make it the perfect reading for the perfect weekend (Summary by sidhu177)
This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/short-stories-by-fyodor-dostoyevsky/
  1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here
To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you'd like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  2. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  3. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen.
Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
  4. Where do I find the text?
Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/40745
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)!
If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Sidhu,
I have changed spelling of Dostoyevsky throughout. He is already in the Librivox catalog with this spelling and we aim to use consistent spelling for all our authors. If there is an alternate spelling for his name, suggest that you put that in the Keywords list. At cataloging, I copy the keywords into Archive as you enter them in the first post, and having alternate spellings for his name there should improve the Archive search function for this project.

I've had a death in the family and won't be around Librivox much for the next while. I'll be back ... when I'm back. I appreciate your patience in the meanwhile. :)

Moving us to Readers Wanted.

Sidhu - debated between putting this in Short Works and Books. I ended up with Short Works because they are short stories, but it can go either way. Which would you prefer?

well three stories in particular are really huge, the third story had to be broken into 4 parts so that the number of words could be below 7000, that one single story is like 21,500 words and the total work has more than 53,000 words but the Author himself said that these are short stories so I think this project can be lumped in the short story section.
Is there any other metric like the maximum number of words that typical short stories have ? or say the maximum partitions.

There's no rule. Where do you think potential readers are more likely to be looking for a project like this? We can put it in either the Books forum or the Short Works forum. Why don't we sit here for a bit and see if people are finding the project. If not, we can move to Readers Wanted Books.
