From time to time, I discover that the CD cover crew has been rustling around in my personal catalog, fixing me up with bright, shiny advertisements to listeners, to choose my work to listen to. I keep notes, and eventually, I get around to thanking them in this forum.
But it struck me tonight that I have never publicly thanked the other half of the team that produced most of that catalog. What a craterous hole in my thinking!
My gracious, good friend Ans Winks - Anna on the forum - was my dedicated proof-listener for (if memory serves) 55 book-length solos. It didn't matter what niche of literature I chose to explore, I grew to accept and finally to expect that Anna wanted to share that experience with me. For almost five years, until a change in her personal circumstances forced her to quit, she proofed every one of my solos. She even coached me on performing the Dutch names and phrases used in "Hans Brinker." I get woefully tired of hearing my own voice during the editing process, and it's hard to believe that Anna would volunteer to listen to every. single. word. But she did! Now, that's dedication!
So this is an extra-special, ginormous, splendiferous shout-out to a very unique and wonderful lady. Thank you so much, Anna!
Extra-Special, Ginormous, Splendiferous Thanks to Ans Winks!
