Section 5: Safety Pins is uploaded. Yay! It was fun. The line about pins lacking a Pindar caught me off guard and I had to edit out my giggling.

I enjoyed this one as well... and a great reading of it.

As the ole confusing template requests merely, in this case, "End of Chapter 5."

Phi, FYI, Checker says this file has version 2.40 ID3 metatags instead of "the preferred version" 2.3 -- whatever that means. I can say that the ID3 fields for the file do not show up in Windows 7. (Pardon me, Chessie Joy, while I figure out all this techo-babble.)

I edited out the chapter title "Safety Pins" at the close of my recording (Section 5). I've also re-uploaded it.

Duration: 6:28

Let me know if that takes care of it. :-)

Chapter 18 is PL OK.

Interesting the piece mentions "Casey at the bat" towards the end, as that is our current fortnightly poem.

Hi....

I have consulted with Phil, and he has directed me to ask you to remove the chapter name at the end of the recording. Sorry to bother about a seeming minor matter. But Phil's saying it's good to follow the template exactly, and I concur with him that this will give consistency across all recordings in the volume. Thanks!

By the way, superb reading!

Greetings Phil,

Chapter 38 of Pipefuls
Notes On A Fifth Avenus Bus

duration 2:39

**There is a red vertical line on the Audacity wave file at 00:18. I have no idea what it is but I listened and it sounded OK. :?:

Dear Jojo,

I understand completely. I've taken out the chapter title at the end of the recording and re-uploaded it - no bother on my end. Nothing else changed, so just a spot check should be okay.

New duration: 4:01

I must have been confused if I read the titles for both of my sections at the end of the recordings. I really did think I was following the template exactly. I'm not obstinately asserting my wilful ways, honest. :)

Thank you. The line means there is a clip there, the volume went above and/or below the margins. You can turn this feature off if you want from View .> Show Clipping. Anything above or below the top or bottom lines is lost and not recorded so is it best to avoid this. I have several videos about basic editing that may mention this.

EDIT: I leave it on to remind me where my 'clicks' are.

It is best to avoid this, for sure. But one clip, or sometimes even a dozen, won't usually render a recording unusable. Because it is usually just extra volume that gets clipped off. But turning on the "View Clips" can help readers get an ear for what is causing the clipping when they record. At least it has for me, and I need all the help I can get.
