COMPLETE Recollections of Old Liverpool by J.Stonehouse-ck
Carolin:
I'd like to claim the remaining sections that have not been assigned. It will probably take me until Nov 1 to finish them, but I have a strategic reading strategy in place which should allow this to happen (unless this little sore throat I have takes longer than a day or so to clear.) Certainly 60 days is ample time to finish them.
I've also taken the liberty of writing the "blurb" for the first post. I hope you don't mind. If it is not appropriate, feel free to use the "good parts" and throw out the rest.
The 5 year anniversary of the project is coming up (first post dated Oct 21, 1012.) I think it should spend a little time in "Readers Found."
What follows is the "blurb"
These reflections of a 93 year old Liverpudlian provide a unique view of life in late 19th to mid19th century Liverpool. They were transcribed as they were related by him and, as a result this narrative has the ring of authenticity to it and is enlivened by many colorful anecdotes. Published first in a local magazine in Liverpool, they drew sufficient interest to by expanded and collected and published in this volume.
The nonagenarian refers to himself in the following manner:
"My friends say I am a wonderful old man. I believe I am. . . . My memory is surprising. . . . I can recollect every occurrence that has fallen under my cognizance sine I was six years old. I do not remember so well events that have taken place during the last twenty or thirty years, as they seem confused to me; but whatever happened of which I had some knowledge during my boyish days and early manhood, is most vividly impressed upon my memory. (p. 5)"
Many thanks,
Philip

I hope you don't feel abandoned. I was called away for a week. I'm back and REALLY behind but everything is downloaded. There are 3 project completely read that I want to PL first. All in all, I haven't forgotten but it's going to be a few days.

Linny:
I didn't feel abandoned...I just went on reading. (Take your time about catching up. My intention was not to overload you.) I'm only planning on posting 1 more section this week--which will leave 3 for next week (plus possibly 1 more if Section 2 is orphaned).
The fifth anniversary of the project is Saturday. Is it appropriate to throw a celebration?
Glad you are back.
Many thanks,
Philip
