Am I correct in thinking I will just make up the melody to sing for the part? Never done a singing part for Librivox.

Yes, if you wish to sing, make up something simple. IT HAS TO BE PUBLIC DOMAIN no matter how tempting it is to use or parody something!

(Becuz of the possibility of inadvertent resemblance to something not PD, I don't use singing in my projects. But this project already had some singing in other sections, so you can use it here.)

Thanks, Todd

That's what I figured. It is so hard to create music that hasn't already been done! I was a music major and one of my last projects was to compose a completely original piece for our instrument plus one other. After years of studying the all the masters, it was incredibly challenging.

Anywho, I believe the Opera in the book is Faust and I am not familiar with the section Christine Nillson is singing, so I completely made it up. Can I guarantee it doesn't sound like something else, no, but it was my own creation :D

I am actually using my Opera voice here so be prepared!

I'd like to be the narrator of Book 2, Chapter 20. If it goes well, I would be more than happy to provide more narration. :)

Hi Todd

Regarding the missing lines of Dr Carver, as he only seems to have 2 short lines apart from the 4 missing ones, would it not be better for someone to record all of them. I could do it if it would help.
