Hi, Rhonda--
Listened to the newest section--
Section 39:
--At ~1:28 the text says "Gardens and orchards"--but I hear "Gardens and orchids" (guess it does not significantly change the meaning of the poem--so let me know if you would prefer to let it stand).
Have a good evening!

Sorry about that. This one, section 39, needed some work so I fixed up a few things. Re-uploaded the file.

Good morning, Rhonda--
Everything sounded great!
Section 39: PL OK
Section 41: PL OK
Section 42: PL OK
(Just so that you are aware--there is a one sentence quotation by Wendell Phillips at the end of Section 42. It is not exactly clear to me if it belongs to Section 42 or if it is supposed to introduce Section 43. At any rate, you did not read it at the end of Section 42, so it will need to be picked up at the start of the next section. Sorry if this is an unneccessary reminder! )

Good pickup, Lucretia.
It's not very clear where these add-on quotes or poems belong, either to the section before or after. I will read the Wendell Phillips quote at the beginning of section 43. I will read the poem by Rev. John Pierpont that appears before The Colored Mother's Prayer at the end of section 40. I usually decide based on content but in these cases it could go either way.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Lucretia,
A couple of children-focused sections. Seems appropriate for Mother's Day!

Hi Rhonda--
I listened to your new sections last night--very nice!
Section 43: PL OK
Section 44: PL OK
I did notice that in the outro for Section 44 (the little poem), the title is stated as "Thank God for Children" (instead of "Thank God for Little Children")--but I don't know if you feel that it should be edited or not. Not a big thing--and everything else in both sections is perfect.
Have a great day!

Thank you again, Lucretia, for catching that slip in the outro in Section 44. I made the change and uploaded the new file.
Here is one of the two-parters I skipped earlier. You will find that your name is notably mentioned in this story!

Hi, Rhonda--
I was able to listen to the two new sections this evening--great job on both!
Section 32: PL OK
Section 33: PL OK
Yes, Lucretia is rather an old-fashioned name. In fact, my first name came from my grandmother, whose name was Mattie Lucretia. So I feel quite honored to be her namesake--and it gives me a sense of being connected to the history of the women in my family. Kind of neat, huh?

Definitely! My name is sort of out of favor now too but it doesn't have that historical feel of your name. I like it a lot!

Thanks! Well, very few people have called me by that name--especially as a child growing up, as you can imagine. And you would get a chuckle out of some of the tortured pronunciations that I have heard over the years--!
Kind regards,
Lucretia
Lucretia
Oh, most call me Lucretia now--but as a child usually just a shorter nickname or else my middle name or some combination of both. I guess Lucretia was a difficult name for children to manage--so it was not until I was a bit older that I began to be called Lucretia. Occasionally now I run across someone else with the same name, but not very often. As you say, not much in favor any more!
Kind regards,
Lucretia
