Cigarettes after Sex

It's apparently an example of what they call Dream Pop. I don't care for all the lyrics---they are crude at times and often mawkish---but the atmosphere of the instrumentals is pretty compelling.

I checked out a Cigarettes After Sex songs compilation... It's OK but not really to my taste. It was described as "Bedroom Pop" LOL

Based on the YT comments the lyrics deal with the events of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_28_incident and specifically with the story of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uyong%CA%89_Yata%27uyungana and especially his daughter, who later came to be known as a singer.

Nice! Do you know the language of these lyrics? Is it Taiwanese, Mandarin, or a mixture??

I don't. A very cursory search told me only that their native language is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwanese_Hokkien

I got the Bose music player working again (finally!) last night and gave myself a concert that included a couple of old favourites:

Beethoven's Waldstein sonata - the rapturous third movement of which starts at 14:14.

Classical music!!!!

I have learned the first and second movements of the Waldstein Sonata, and I have been working on the third movement. It is a really great piece.

I listen to a lot of instrumental music. I am a huge fan of surf guitar (which I play, albeit not too well) & Italian movie soundtracks from the 70s. Lately, I’ve mostly been listening to Link Wray, Duane Eddy, John Barry, Dick Dale, the Shadows, the Marketts, the Fireballs, & Ennio Morricone.

But I grew up listening to alternative rock, & my favorites there are Queens of the Stone Age, Calexico, TV On the Radio, the Cure, Nick Cave, & Soundgarden. And Tom Waits is awesome!

The other day I come across this awesome 30s TIKTOK (Danger, it's TIKTOK*, oh My !!) https://www.tiktok.com/@marin.cooking/video/7111627601235463426 now you tell me is that an awesome video ? That's why they ban tiktok in the capitalist places, because youtube just can't compete at all, on tiktok viral videos get WAY more views than youtube's best videos, youtube cannot compete, so they ban tiktok, and youtube annoys it's users to death with shorts. Listen to that music in the video, omg that's the bomb. I went and looked it up, artist is called wednesday capaella and you can't get that clip's music out of your head. There are two 3 minute music videos, one regular one halloween, and a one hour loop video on youtube at the moment.

I love it, it's got everything a good music video should have. Music, and Japanese FOOD.
