Some Librivox Recordings On Audible
Actually, everyone BUT French speakers in France could do it. Apollinaire is "mort pour la France" so the copyright got extended in France. French speakers outside France could though (but I'm not volunteering!)

you obviously haven't bought an "m" recently - what with the global financial crises , global warming , and volcanic ash , the price has gone through the roof.Availle wrote:I just found out that they are charging 19.95 for what appears to be my recording of "Madamme Butterfly".
It's quite a short book, but still... removing the disclaimers, adding the music, putting in an extra "m"...

Oh, puhleeeaaaseee!Warning: Last items in stock!
Do you live in Europe, Canada, Australia, ... any country where death date of author determines if a book is in the Public Domain? Come to legamus.eu to record books published in 1923 or later, written by authors dead since >70 years!
I just noticed they charge $ 9.95 for a DOWNLOAD!
(granted, music is included in most of them, but still...)
Isn't that where we used to draw the line as to the... morally questionable...?
ETA: Music is under a CC licence... I hope they spend DAYS on making one CD...

Kind of got a bit cross to see an eBay seller claiming The Wonderful Garden as his own creation and making absolutely no reference to me as the reader or LibriVox as the producer.
RuthIt would be very nice if you gave some credit to the reader and LibriVox,
who, as you know, were the actual creators of this audiobook and gave it
away free into the Public Domain, allowing you to sell it. Of course, it
would have been much better to produce an audio CD from the original
lossless recording, rather than a 64 kbps MP3, which is heavily compressed.
Whatever cleaning up you do (and I doubt you did much on this, except cut
out the LibriVox disclaimer by which I put it in the public domain), you
can't put back what isn't there any more. But of course, that would have
meant asking me.
I know it's mine because you used the introduction
I wrote (cutting off my name, of course). I shall soon be recording texts
which are out-of-copyright in Europe only, for another free organisation,
but I will not be putting those recordings in the Public Domain for
commercial exploitation, for this very reason - some sellers claim all the
credit for themselves.
