You know you're addicted to LV when the thread outlining the ways in which you know you are addicted becomes too long for the forum software to handle.

You know you're addicted when...

You have listened to so many versions of Poe's "The Bells" that you have parts of it memorized. "And the people - ah, the people, they that dwell up in the steeple..." and when snippets of it come to you at odd times during the day. While shopping. While shoveling. Even when there are no bells around to hear. "Hear the loud alarum bells - brazen bells!"

That's what I get for BC and PL'ing the fortnightly poetry!

You know you're addicted to LV when you create a video trailer to market your own solo...

My apologies to Karen. :)

You know you're addicted when...

...you're listening to an orator and he makes a mouth click, and you wonder how big of a spike it would have made in Audacity.

...plosives during church sermons drive you batty.

OMG That's sooooooo true! I'm like... "Move that Mic!"

or

the mic cord is touching the podium and the speaker is touching the podium and all the sound is picked up by the mic. Once again, I'm like ... "MOVE THAT MIC!" sigh

(I've actually considered volunteering in the sound booth at church! ) (found a cute little {crc} church nearby with room for only about 100 people)

Esther :)

...when you base your home moving choices on "and which room will I record in"...
[just moved over the last weekend, myself]

When the presenter of a radio program bangs on the table three times and re-reads the last sentence.
- And you automatically reach for your mouse and look up at the screen. But there isn't one.

Along the same line as Andy:

...When you listen to a radio talk show and wonder if it is live or studio recorded and listen for flubs. (i'm a natural proof listener!)

It was not my first consideration, but it was in the top 5!

...your father and his house guest leave for a three-day trip to Santa Clara and the first thing you think of is how much recording you'll get done over the weekend.

I'm anticipating a very productive three days.

Also:

...you cross-check the publisher's advertisements in the backs of scanned PD books on Archive.org with the LV catalog to see what we don't have. I discovered a work by Jack London that is not in the catalog that way, and I want it as a solo with a passion. :D

I'm probably a terrible person, but my husband has to go out of town for a couple of days and that's the first thing I thought of as well. :D
