In the strictest sense this might not be called a blooper. William Lilly Esquire, gentleman and scholar, deviates from the King's English in his pious work "Christian Astrology". Where is a block of soap? Or maybe he could have donated one sovereign to the Royal swear jar.

If you meet anyone called Larsen E. Pettifogger do not trust his legal advice.
Not so much a blooper as a bit of fortuitous timing at a particular point in the story. Still, it amused me, so...

My cat loves to sit on my lap when I'm at the computer, and she decided that mid-read was a good time. I disagreed...

good name for a cat, but it's still just a cat. Chickens outrank cats. chickens will give you brand new food to eat. Cat's culinary efforts are well known. I haven't noticed any chicken bloopers yet, making me believe chickens are better mannered than cats and kids, planes and trains.

On my recent article in National Geographic, in a list of bird names I had to include one burgomaster gull. I cracked up as I was reading it thru before recording because my brain got stuck on burgers/hamburgers. It put me in mind how sometimes we'll call someone a grill master or burger master when they cook really tasty burgers. ANYWAY. I was so focused on getting that right, saying it like I believe it and such, so then when recording, "burgomaster" came out just fine, but then out of my mouth flew GRILL instead of gull.

With that kind of name for a bird, the blooper just naturally follows.
Side note: not sure if you realized it, but you posted an 8:18 audio file with the blooper only comprising the last 0:04 of it.

I do not know who or what you are pointing at here, but I'll give it a go under the last person talking option. Roosters, they should surely punctuate many an audiobook, inserting at least a few of their most pertinent bulletins using timing skills only roosters seem to have.
If there is a total absence of Rooster oratory examples in the catalogue, is it the result of universally flawless editing, or are Roosters to be found as having special reverence for libraries, if only electronic libraries. I don't recall chickens spending any time reading, but then again, it's cats that come to mind when recalling which animals knock everything down from the shelves, not roosters. hmmm
Thank goodness, I was worried there a moment. yes, a great deal of silence and then just getting to the point, like I should do. Muchly.

Gahhhhhhh!!!! NO WAY! Thanks for telling! I'll fix that! No idea how I managed that.
A blooper of my blooper. Is there a prize for that?!
it's okay. As long as you write "Wait for it." (Wink.)CuriousEntling wrote: ↑October 3rd, 2023, 1:54 pmGahhhhhhh!!!! NO WAY! Thanks for telling! I'll fix that! No idea how I managed that.

A couple from a new project. First, an unknown word caught me off-guard. Then a paragraph or two later, it jumped out again, but by then I'd forgotten the pronunciation that I'd looked up previously.

Then a phrase about language proficiency led me to channel a certain Jedi master...

A couple more from today's recording.First, a bit of a tongue twister:

The second is a turn of phrase that I'd never seen before, and saying it literally made me stop.
