May I have a section? I've been just aching to try to the voice filters which came with my computer, so I could do a male role if you needed it.

Thanks, Margaret! You are complete, and I'll let you know if there are any PL questions.
Miriam, sure, which part would you like?

Well, I saw in the text that George Arliss originally played him, so how about Sir Wilfrid Cates-Darby? If you were hoping for an authentically British reader, that's totally fine. I think it would be a heck of a lot of fun, especially with the male voice filter I plan on using (ok?) to try an accent. Also, it's a big plus that this work is new enough for George Arliss to have originally had this role
Anyway, if you don't want to give me that one, give me any other.

Matthew Acts 1 and 3 are PL OK.
Miriam, I'll put you down for Sir Wilfred. I'm interested to see what you come up with!

This is certainly the most daring thing I've done on LibriVox. I warn you that the effect may be jarring, but here are Sir Wilfrid's lines in Act 2 through the deep voice filter which came installed on my computer. I think the effect is a smashing success, and I'm anxious to hear your opinion!

I was passing by and I read Miriam's post and I got curious. I listened for a minute or two...Wow, Miriam that sounds really good to my ears.
Cheers,
Betty

Miriam - my heavens that is really good! I confess I had my doubts when you described what you were going to do, but that sounds fantastic.

Miriam, I have to say that I also had my doubts, but holy moly, that sounds great! My husband who is sitting next to me (and who knows a lot more about audio than I do) just said, "Wow, who's THAT? That sounds awesome!"

Thanks to everyone for the accolades! Nothing ventured, nothing gain, right?
Continuing to be totally out of order, here are Wilfrid's lines for act 4. http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ek/thenewyorkidea_sirwilfrid_4.mp3 (02:42)

No lines in act 2, so act 3:

0:30
ETA: If I checked correctly, no lines in act 4 either. Let me know if acts 1 or 3 need editing
