I noticed that a recently launched collection of literary essays included one titled "On Polish". I immediately thought that it would be great if one of our Polish-speaking contributors could take it on, so as to do justice to this subject, rarely handled in English-language books. Then I read the opening line:
By Polish I mean a certain well-known and immediately recognizable condition of surface.

I was reading Robert Fulghum’s book Uh-Oh and he mentioned the Monster Manual.

Upon rereading it turned out to be the Minister’s Manual. :oops:

My eye first registered "Lectures on Butler's Anatomy" while browsing the Launch Pad this morning. Hmm. Barrel chest, stiff upper lip...
