I would like to read this account that Trotsky gave of the period from the October Revolution in 1917 to the signing of the Brest-Litovsk Treaty in 1918 which took Russia out of the First World War.
Estimated Completion date : July 2006
Any takers as a coordinator please.

COMPLETE: From October to Brest-Litovsk by Trotsky - NF/ry
I'll take it!RebeccaD wrote:Any takers as a coordinator please.
I imagine a discussion of the end of the first world war in the east and I can tell of the notes of Trotzky...
It seems you know pretty well how it works. You can send the files either to raynr AT web.de or simply post it here.
The text can be found here:

I just want to know how it comes that you are interested in this text. In any case: have fun with your recording!

Hi Rainer!
Thanks for taking up the request. Have just finished a solo read of 'War of the Worlds' which has some echoes of things to come at that time and I was looking for something that might go along with it. I then saw a posting about the UN Declaration of Human Rights and realised that the field was open for any sort of text that might be significant. So I had a look in Guttenberg and found this. It's the only text they have by Trotsky but there are lots of other sources online.
I come from a generation that was effected by the consequences of the Russian Revolution so it will be interesting for me to look at the writings of one of the main protagonists in that social upheaval who was eventually swept away by a more ruthless tyrant.
By the way do you have an FTP address that I can send files to? I would find that easier. Otherwise will send them via YouSendIt. I'm quite a quick reader so I expect I will finish it well before my ERT (Estimated Reading Time).

Rebecca, I'm just proof-listening your War of the Worlds, which is fantastic! Just wanted to mention, please put a 3 seconds silence at the end of all files, otherwise in some programs the end is cut off as it jumps onto the next track. :)
Look forward to your Trotzky, too!

I'm sorry, no. I am thinking about getting some server space, but until then you have to use yousendit, or, if you have you own server, you can put your files there and I will collect them.RebeccaD wrote:By the way do you have an FTP address that I can send files to? I would find that easier.

Hello Rebecca,
you are awesome! You recorded the whole book in 3 weeks!
I put it in the "Listeners Wanted" section and will catalogue it after that.
Thank you for your efforts!
