I saw the Sun at Midnight, rising red
by Joseph Mary Plunkett

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/i-saw-the-sun-at-midnight-rising-red-by-joseph-mary-plunkett/

Each week a poem is chosen to be recorded by as many LibriVox volunteers as possible!

This week's poem can be found here.

Please be sure that your recording software is set to the following technical specifications:
Bit Rate: 128 kbps
Sample Rate: 44100 kHz

Have questions on "how"?
Check LV's Recording Notes thread before recording: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6427#6430

If this is your first recording, you'll also find this useful: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/NewbieGuideToRecording

Begin your reading with the abbreviated LibriVox disclaimer:
I saw the Sun at Midnight, rising red by Joseph Mary Plunkett, read for LibriVox.org by [your name].
[Add, if you wish, date, your location, and/or your personal url.]

Then read the poem:
I SAW the Sun at midnight, rising red,
Deep-hued yet glowing, heavy with the stain
Of blood-compassion, and I saw It gain
Swiftly in size and growing till It spread
Over the stars; the heavens bowed their head
As from Its heart slow dripped a crimson rain,
Then a great tremor shook It, as of pain—
The night fell, moaning, as It hung there dead.
O Sun, O Christ, O bleeding Heart of flame!
Thou giv’st Thine agony as our life’s worth,
And mak’st it infinite, lest we have dearth
Of rights wherewith to call upon thy Name;
Thou pawnest Heaven as a pledge for Earth,
And for our glory sufferest all shame.

At the end of your reading, leave a space and then say:
End of poem. This recording is in the public domain.

Please leave a few seconds of silence at the end of your recording.

Save your recording as an mp3 file using the following filename and ID3 tag format:

File name - all in lowercase: isawthesun_plunkett_[your initials].mp3 (eg. isawthesun_plunkett_dl.mp3)

ID3 tags (Version 2):

All set up. (only 6am here, but I can't sleep )
What you have for the filename is fine. I suppose you could do isawthesun_plunkett_dl.mp3 if you want it a bit shorter, but it's totally up to you. Just edit the top post if you want to change it.

The shorter file name is better, I think ... it's been edited :)
