Each week a poem is chosen to be recorded by as many Librivox volunteers as possible!

This week we read Poet To His Love by Maxwell Bodenheim. I found this on Bartleby - http://www.bartleby.com/104/128.html - and thought it was a nice little love poem and would be fun to do for Valentine?s Day!
POET TO HIS LOVE
By Maxwell Bodenheim

An old silver church in a forest
Is my love for you.
The trees around it
Are words that I have stolen from your heart.
An old silver bell, the last smile you gave,
Hangs at the top of my church.
It rings only when you come through the forest
And stand beside it.
And then, it has no need for ringing,
For your voice takes its place.
At the beginning, read the abbreviated "librivox disclaimer":
"Poet To His Love, by Maxwell Bodenheim, read for librivox.org by [your name]" or some variation on that, adding date, location, your personal url, if you wish.

At the End say: End of poem.

Save your recording as an mp3 file using the following filename and ID3 tag format:

File name ? all in lowercase: poet_to_his_love_bodenheim_[your initials].mp3

ID-3 tags:
Title: Poet To His Love - Read by [your initials]
Artist: Maxwell Bodenheim
Album: Librivox Weekly Poetry

You may either post a link to your completed files here in the thread or email them to me via http://www.yousendit.com/ at this address: ac DOT timshel AT gmail DOT com. If you use yousendit, it is also a good idea to post the link it generates in this thread as well.

When you post your link, please include your name as you would like it credited on the catalog page and any URL by which you would like it accompanied.

If you wish to contribute, please have your readings submitted by 3:00 p.m. PST on Saturday, February 18th (that's 23.00 gmt, on the same day).

If you're not yet familiar with them, please read the Recording Notes before you begin: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6427#6430

Enjoy!

(And remember, anyone who submits a recording can choose the next weekly poem! If you'd like to suggest a poem or coordinate a future Weekly Poetry project, please visit this thread: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1114)

Peter - I'm getting just a 17 second recording that sounds like only an unedited intro. Could you double check and make sure you sent the right file? Thanks!

LOL - maybe that's Peter's very own interpretation... ;)

Got it Peter, thanks! Sounds great with the poem instead of the belch in it. :D

I pronounced it BOE-din-hime. I don't know if that's correct but it's how I did it! :D

If there *was* a cutting-room floor, we could make a very strange collection of unintentional noises! I do remember finding that unedited belchy fragment earlier in the day and deleting it, but still don't know what happened to the aup files for my first attempt ... unless I accidentally closed without saving, after creating that peculiar mp3 file.
