Dramas of the Dock: True Stories of Crime, by Guy B. H. Logan
Guy Logan is a lesser known but prolific British true crime writer of the early 20th century. In this 1928 compilation, he relates the stories of over a dozen murders – their details, the subsequent investigations, the trials, and the results of the verdicts. He recounts the facts without swerving toward yellow journalism, and he ends each story with his own thoughts on the case. Logan says in the introduction that he chooses a case to write about not because of its notoriety, but because he believes it will be interesting to read. His clear and concise writing will make the reader share his interest. (Summary by Verla Viera)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Guy B. H. Logan needs to be added to the catalog. He wrote a lot of books, but I was unable to find DOB-DOD anywhere.

I believe LCaulkins is going to DPL this.

If this sounds familiar, it's because it's replacing another project which I belatedly discovered was not PD.

The first tiny piece (intro) is up. I don't know if I'm going to get anything done this next week, but I know you and I leave around the same time, so maybe I'll see you in September. We'll see!

Section 1 is up.

I was either speaking too loudly or too close to the microphone. I used my usual settings and thought I was standing about in my usual spot, but I had to de-amplify a lot of spots. Could you please tell me whether, even with those edits, you think the sound quality is such that it should be re-recorded?

Thanks.

Hi Verla!

Nope, it flows just fine, volume-wise - no need to re-record any of this section. And we're going to get some good stories in this one, sounds like!

Section 1 is PL OK
