Well, that's the most unusual take on the 1-minute test I've ever seen! Jokes appreciated; technical specifications all correct; but there's a steady hum in the background throughout the entire recording, that puts your background noise up to 57.9 dB (ideal is somewhere below 45 or so). I'm not sure what it is, maybe your computer fan or an air conditioner or something like that?

Please try to identify the sound and isolate your mic from it, then re-record the test (you don't have to do more than a minute, however ), and upload the link in a response to this post. I'll come back and check it out.

Another solution you could apply is noise reduction (under Effect if you're using Audacity). This will reduce the hum, but it can degrade the quality of the audio. Be gentle on the amount (I'd say a maximum of 6 dB reduction but less is better). However, if you go this route, you may pass the test, but you'll have to do it for all of your recordings. It would be better to eliminate the hum if you can.

I reviewed your test sample, and while it sounds good there are some technical changes needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate MP3, 44.1kHz sample rate, mono, and between 86dB and 92dB, preferably 89-90. Your test audio settings are all correct, so well done. There is however, a high level of background noise. It sounds mechanical, like a fan.

Try to isolate your mic from the noise, such as computer fan. If that isn’t entirely successful, use Audacity’s Noise Removal filter to reduce the background noise about 10dB. Passed with Warnings is a fail with regard to volume.
With Checker open, go to Validation>Choose Validation Methods and check Background Noise. Be sure to leave 5 seconds blank at the end of your recording.
