Hey hey! Here's a link to my test: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_grassykeen.mp3
I'm using Adobe Audition with an AT-2038 mic.
Thanks!

One-Minute Test [OK]
Welcome grassy
I reviewed your test sample, and while it sounds good there are some technical changes needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate MP3, 44.1kHz sample rate, mono, and between 86dB and 92dB, preferably 89-90. Your test audio settings are all correct, except the volume, which is way, way too low at 67.4dB. This equates to -44dB RMS in Audion; it should be around -23dB RMS.
First, adjust the input gain on your mic so your raw recording has wave forms that peak at about the -3dB marks, and look more like this:
Your volume will be perfect if you normalize to -23dB RMS in Audition.
You can pre-check your audio yourself by downloading the free Checker app: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/
Passed with Warnings is a fail with regard to volume.
Please make a new test recording and post it in a reply to this message. I will come back and review it for you.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback! Does this fix the volume issue?

Not quite. 84.4dB/ -27dB RMS. Shoot for 89dB/-23dB RMS. You should be able to do RMS normalization in Audition (I've never used it, but it's a full-feature DAW). Set it for -23dB RMS and you'll nail it.

Okay, I think I've got it! The amplitude statistic said it was around -22db RMS at least, so let me know if it's in the right range! And thanks so much for the back and forth, still learning the ropes, so I appreciate it!
