Good morning,
I have a practice track that I've edited. It passes the librivox checker and I used noise reduction twice, still have static. I went back to the previous track and used noisegate instead of noise reduction but still static. Advice? What causes static?
thanks this group is great! Diana

I suggest uploading a sample of your static. That will help us determine the source.
Posting blindly, often static is due to electrical interference of some sort. Move your mic cables away from any power cords, and possibly shut off any electrical things you don't need while recording.

Can also be a bad cable or USB plug. If you have spare cables try switching them.
