The Red Hawk, by Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875 - 1950)
This third book in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Moon Sequence (preceded by The Moon Maid and The Moon Men) finds Julian 20th, The Red Hawk, leading the last Americans, now a primitive nomadic people, to a final skull-splitting confrontation with the dread Kalkars, the Moon Men who enslaved humanity with the help of traitor Ortis in the previous volumes. The pace is relentless, the fighting is fierce, and The Red Hawk with his trusty horse Red Lightning is determined to drive every last Kalkar into the sea, if it's the last thing he does! (Summary by Ben Tucker)

Target completion date:

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Oh btw, just letting you know I intentionally left out the footnotes. I didn't think they added anything useful and disrupted the flow of the book.

5 - 7 are up!

Burroughs might not be considered among the greatest in all literature, but the guy knows how to keep up the pace.

Chapters 5-7 are PL ok. He is tops in my book even though his plots follow repetitive tropes.

And there's the last three chapters!

And yea, sometimes a little fun escapist entertainment is all you need.

Also I updated the summary and keywords.

One other thing, can you include links to the previous two books in this series like the other two Librivox pages have? As well as updating the link to this one from those?
For reference:
https://librivox.org/the-moon-maid-by-edgar-rice-burroughs/
https://librivox.org/the-moon-men-by-edgar-rice-burroughs/

Thanks!

Yes. The link in the other two will have to wait until this one is done.
