His House in Order, by Arthur Wing Pinero (1855 - 1934)
"A well-meaning second wife is made miserable by the fact that she is continually compared, to her disadvantage, with her predecessor. What may conveniently be called the "theme" is stated clearly by Hilary Jesson, toward the close of the third act: "I declare to you that the happy people I've come across have never been the people who, possessing power, have employed it malevolently or uncharitably." This play achieved a notable success in the theatre, not only in England, but also in the United States; it was acclaimed so way away from London as Milan, where an Italian version ... was acted before enthusiastic audiences. (Summary by Clayton Hamilton, 1919)
Here we go again - a Pinero farce this time.

Sonia will again be our DPL, as well as playing the enigmatic Mlle. Thome. Don't make her speak French to you in anger!

Gender neutral casting.

Placing a cookie crumb for my DPL job here and claiming Mademoiselle Thomé, and I also changed your MW entry to include the é in the name. Maybe you don't have that letter on your keyboard :hmm:

A new Pinero, always exciting.

You are correct - there is no accented e on my keyboard. Your changing the MW means that the cast list will be correct, too, since I use the MW to make the lists.

Thank you! Todd

For a change, perhaps I will try playing a young boy. I think my voice is still suitable to pass for one (if I try). So I will claim Derek, if I may!

Thank you.

(I know my actions still pass for a young boy if not my voice....)
