you portray a very snotty and mean old lady here, Val, excellently donevalroth wrote: ↑April 14th, 2024, 8:09 amHere is Lady Ridgeley, Act 2

I have a few small notes to correct still. A main request is to be careful when stage directions happen inside your speeches, please also remember to leave a long space of silence there, it is so much easier for Todd to copy/paste parts that are adequately spaced out. This would be at the following timestamps:
> at 0:58: (p. 302) between "consolation" and "I thank"
> at 2:13: (p. 305) between "living soul" and "she was charity"
> at 3:26: (p. 314) between "Maurewarde" and "Filmer"
> at 5:40: (p. 342) between "how different" and "Annabel"
> at 6:07: (p. 346) between "beds, yes" and "first asking"
> at 6:11: (p. 346) between "resolutions" and "good night"
> at 6:17: (p. 346) between "my boy" and "I pray"
a few added textual corrections:
> at 0:12: (p. 301) "thank you Mrs Jesson" – you say "Miss", but Nina is married
> at 4:27: (p. 333) "the cups must be secured by chains, Filmer" – you say "must have been secured", but this seems to be an order, not a statement
> at 5:13: (p. 339) "as Mrs Jesson desires" – you say "Jenson"
> at 6:22: (p. 347) "Good night Major Maurewarde" – you say "mister"
thanks, looking forward to the next act, when will the old dragon get her comeuppance ?
Sonia
Ohhhh….Apologies for the multiple mistakes Sonia! I make you work far too hard. Lady Ridgeley would be horrified at her reader's ineptitude!
I’ve inserted the spaces for all stage directions (thank you again: noted) and the other boo boos are corrected as well. With the Lady’s dignity and arrogance reasserted (we pray), may I present...

May I read Sir Daniel? I feel I can channel an older man with a long white beard,
despite not being an older man, and not having a long white beard, and despite disagreeing completely with his line "We don't like Paris".

A total of 14 minutes of an ineffective and prejudiced old man.
Somehow, while reading him, I couldn't get the memory of the line: "handbag, a handbag" (Importance of being earnest, black and white film version (I think it might have been Ealing Studios)) out of my head.
Regards,
Adrian

oooh this family is horrible to Nina but you played the bigotted pompous old man to perfection, Adrian, thanks
Act 4 is already PL ok.
Some PL notes for the other two however:
Act 2:
> at about 4:02: (p. 328) missed line "Ah !"
> at about 5:18: (p. 333) missed line "Yes, ingratitude and dishonesty flourish in every community."
Act 3:
> at 1:12: (p. 358) "that Mrs Filmer should occupy the seat next to you in the carriage" – you say "accompany"
> at about 3:58: (p. 404) missed line "To the park !"
