Nicely done, though there are some strictures required for LibriVox recordings.

First, the bit rate must be 128 kbps and the sampling rate 44.100 Hz.

Also, your volume is a bit low. If you would raise it some 10 or 12 dB, you'll be within LibriVox's limits of 86 to 92 dB.

C-A-S-E-Y, if you'll make these corrections, someone will have a listen to give you the green light.

We're getting close!

The recordings must be in mono sound and your volume is 2 or 3dB too loud.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about .zip files; I just use .mp3. It seems to work the best for me.

In a minute, I will introduce you to the Checker Program. It's pretty self-explanatory and it is very, very helpful once you start recording.

The 1 minute tests are a easy way for readers to be able to get project recordings correct and they need to be .mp3 files. As the instructions say - correct file names are very important. The uploader can be used for other parts of the complete projects. So yes it will accept the image and pdf files we need for the coverart bundled in a zip . Anne

I'm having some trouble accessing the checker on my Chromebook. I know you have to install Linux first, but my Internet connection isn't the best and the software won't download. Anyway, I think this is okay. I'm recording using an app on my phone called Audiolab. I saw on another forum that, when the volume is -3db (Audiolab's volume measure doesn't go to 89-92 db), it reads in the accepted range on the checker. Hopefully, this one will meet all the requirements: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/AudioLabRecording_06-04-24_21-02-11-194_06-04-24_2_15-04-24_15-59-57-682_32_92.mp3

Your volume is way low, but that can be fixed by your adjusting your volume by a good 10dB.

The real concern is your sample rate. It needs to be 44.1 kHz.

If you have further trouble next time around, I'll ask one of our experts to chime in. I know that there is (or was) a work-around for Chromebook, but I'm working entirely on Windows. (I used to be an Apple guy, but that changed when I retired. Someone gifted me with Windows and I adjusted myself to it.)

Okay, so. I changed the bit rate to 128 and the kHz sample to 44100. I also raised the volume by 10 dB, from -3 to 7 on the AudioLab scale.
