Yay! I'm glad you liked them. Stories about legendary origins of things/places/etc. are always fun I think!
I've updated magic window and should be able to proof listen later today. It's eclipse day here in Austin, ha ha... but cloudy. So I guess I won't be spending several hours watching the sun disappear... but who knows? Maybe by some miracle the clouds will clear.

It's good to see/hear you again, Brenda! Fantastic! I have assigned those to you in the magic window. I hope you enjoy them! That one from India especially is a favorite of mine. :D

Oh, I am so glad you liked it! Stories about "luck" are so much fun. Maybe someday I will try to make a LibriVox anthology of lucky stories, ha ha.
I've marked this ready for PL in the magic Window, and I should be able to listen later today, yay!

That sounded GREAT, Lisa! It really sounded like you were enjoying the story as you read it, and I'm sure the listeners will like it too. I've marked that PL OK in the magic Window.

The idea for these anthologies is to have a variety of stories from a variety of different places, and I really like how people will get it hear your voice reading such different stories, since the stories you chose are each very different in their style and contents. I will let you know when Tales of 1926 is ready... it would be fun if you want to join in on that one also! (I did Tales of 1928 earlier this year, based on the books that entered the public domain in 2024, and now I am working backwards in time, year by year: 1927, then 1926 and so on... I'm sure that in every year I'll be able to find plenty of stories for an anthology.)

Thank you for lending your voice to these different stories from 1927!

Whoo-hoo: those both sound wonderful, Kirk! And it makes me so happy to have your (very familiar) voice be part of this collection. Yay!

I especially like the story of the Lough of Cork; the "drowned palace" is one of my favorite folktale types, so I was excited to have an example to be able to include in this collection.

Thank you for joining in!

And let me know when you have another solo going so I can listen. :D

Loved participating!

I'll be in touch soon...as soon as I decide on a project, don't have anything in mind yet.

Welcome to LibriVox! I'll reserve that story for you in mine name for now so that no one will snag it ... in the meantime, you need to do an audio check to confirm your recording set-up. All the details here:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Main_Page#Reader_(Narrator)

Let me know when you've done the audio check (you will post the file in another part of the forum here, and you'll get a go-ahead there)... and then I'll set you up in the reader database and assign the story to you. It is such a cool story; I am excited that it will be your first one! :-)
