"But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes", by Anita Loos (1888 - 1981)

Volunteers outside the USA: Anita Loos died in 1981. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 70 years for authors who died after 1971; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.
In this sequel to “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”, Lorelei starts another diary to document her and Dorothy’s further adventures. While the story she shares is mostly Dorothy’s, there continue to be plenty of charming moments with the character that readers fell in love with in the original book. (Summary by Jenn Broda)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Ok, you are ready to go!

Also, I hope you don't mind if I take a moment for a personal note to MB. I think this is the first time I've run across you on the forum, but I've been listening to lot of DRs recently, and really enjoying your performances in each of them. :D It's nice to finally "meet" you.

Thanks so much, Devorah! I think I’ve got the MW all sorted and hope to have a file soon for mb to PL.

And I don’t mind at all! Feel free to recommend any DR’s you’ve particularly enjoyed. I’m always looking for things to add to my “To Listen” list :)

Moving us to Going Solo!

Mostly I've been listening to lots of Shakespeare recently. But also some Euripides, some Jane Austen, Dracula... When there's a DR available, I usually choose it over a solo or other group project.

Hi Devorah, that's kind of you - nice to meet you, too!

I'm a little embarrassed by a lot of those performances, but I had a great time doing them. I hope the enthusiasm compensates for the deficiencies!

Looking forward to working with you both :)

Chapter 1 has been uploaded for PLing!

Lorelei says so many little gems in this chapter! But my favorite has to be "it is practically impossible to have a camera at Washington D.C. and keep great men away from the front of it."
