PL OK -- and thanks for noticing Saminsky has a couple lines in that chapter.

Okay here is the rerecorded first chapter that's hopefully better, I just kinda used my normal voice because it's very difficult to record it perfect first try with no clipping at all. There is one instance of clipping because it's a line he's yelling but I left a non-clipped version as well so you can choose which you prefer.

Also again for some shouting lines I left in multiple versions if what I think was the best one peaked the audio, my microphone was also too quiet/far away to pick up stuff like sighing or panting so I didn't really do that even though normally I would but since DRs don't cut 'stage directions' like a play does if the reader made the extra sound then hopefully it should still be okay

You're kind of swallowing the first word in some of the lines - for example, at ~2:25 in chapter 4 "What's" in "What's that supposed to mean" is pretty much inaudible. Could you fix that one please?

In chapter 2 at ~1:49, I don't hear "He" from "He went with Captain Strong, sir."

At ~2:49, Tom can barely stand to introduce Roger - "Glad to know you. I'm Tom Corbett. This is Astro—and Roger Manning." LOL - Roger has earned that disdain by being such a jerk. :-)

Likewise, at ~1:36 in chapter 5, "Get" is missing from "Get some water, Astro."
also at ~2:19, the "I" from both "I thought sure this would work, Astro." and the next one "I thought he'd come to his senses if--"

Chapter 17 - PL OK.

Chapter 18 - At 5:38, I'm hearing something like "and the whole thing goes right back to when my father made the decision tet a space rat live" - sounds like an edit that didn't quite make it.

(Now, as Astro, I've got to come up with a hard luck story that matches yours.)

Chapter 19 - PL OK. Roger is already on better terms with Tom and Astro.

Chapter 20 - At ~2:00, I hear "Aside from just sitting under this hunk of space cloth, I bet we'll come as close to being roasted alive as a human can get." - the text reads "Aside from just sitting under this hunk of space cloth, I guess we'll come as close to being roasted alive as a human can get."

Chapter 21 - PL OK.

Chapter 22 - PL OK.

Fix up those couple spots and you'll be through.

Yes - all three are now PL OK. Thanks for the fixes.

I'm wondering if you have some sort of noise gate in your recording setup - set to reduce the record gain when you're not talking. If so, it might not have enough time to bring the volume up again in time when the first word is something very short like "I".
