oops. I forgot to run the file through the checker - I just did and it got a warning. I will fix it and repost.
I changed my set-up and now have to readjust things to get all the levels right.

Section 2 PL Notes:

00:00 Note (no change needed): There were ID3 tags on this file. These are cleared and re-added at cataloging so you could save yourself some time by not adding them at export time.
00:00 Note (no change needed): I could hear that you were stopping and starting as you recorded. That's not a problem in itself but it is audible when the new recording begins because the background hiss drops out. The best practice to avoid this is recording in one long, continuous take where you remove the errors later (you can mark them in your recording by a clap or something loud so you can spot them easily later). This might also have been caused by shifting clips left and right in Audaicty, resulting in shirt pickets of empty space. You could use Align End to End to fix this automatically (though make sure your tracks are ordered top to bottom).

Thank you ITD, I really appreciate the recording tips. What is an ID3 tag?

I record in my bedroom and of course it's not a dedicated space and sometimes there are long interruptions so I stop recording. Like the other day my husband Phil didn't know I was recording and he commented on what i read (That's a good one!)

and we started a conversation . If you have any suggestions about how to avoid this I'm open

The only reason I use more than one track is for fixing errors so I'm not sure what you are referring to with different tracks. I try to delete the 2nd track as soon as I cut and paste it into my "real" track.

Edit: PS, I'm curious what time zone are you in?

Think of it as a "dress rehearsal" and how much better the recorded version will be.

Oops, I forgot to finally mark section 2 as PL OK (all changes are optional).

The p key on Audacity will pause the recording and unpause it quite neatly which is worth a try.

You only make the not recording mistake once. Or maybe once every 6 months like I did the other day. But the second take is indeed faster.

On my 2nd take of section 3 I had a hovering helicopter to deal with as well as well as a truck using its gears to break. Oh well. At least I don't have all the wind noise I had yesterday

Hello ITD, just giving you a little nudge since it's been a few days since I finished recording Beautiful Thoughts. I don't mean to rush you, I'm just really enthusiastic about Librivox right now
