Thanks!
Thanks. I've put this into the Magic Window for PL, but the volume will need adjusting. It's only 82.4 dB, and needs to be raised to at least 86 dB. Wait and see if Claire has any changes for you before you re-upload, and if she does, you can fix the volume at the same time. (If she doesn't, you can fix and re-upload when she gives you the ok.)
Cheers,
Ah - ok. Sorry about that, I'm still quite new to Audacity and I'm not great at the tech part. I checked out the tech specs wiki so I think I know how to correct this. I'll give it a shot once I address any other issues/get the ok. Thanks!
Another good reading. Once again, you've stated "ready by" at the beginning and also the end. Simple deletion of one or the other will be fine.

When I ran it through the Checker, I also got the volume caution. I'll leave that to the admin for advice.

There’s a very easy fix in Audacity for this. Simply select the entire track, then click “Effect > Loudness Normalization.” Make sure that’s set to -19LUFS and “perceived loudness,” then click “Apply.” That will bring the volume up to the 89-90 dB range.

Cheers,
Winnifred

Cheers,
This is well read. I do have one question, though. There are two bracketed statements in the text. One is in the beginning at 0:25. The other is toward the end at 3:41. The first one was skipped over, but not the second. Not sure why there were not treated the same, either both read or both left out. Admin advice?

Ah, I think they both need to be in. They’re meant to be humorous asides, and are part of the essay. The idea being that the linotype man will decide which adjective more accurately describes the weather on the day of printing. If it’s read as just “this warm slash chilly morning,” that would be completely lost.

Thanks,
Winnifred
