Thanks. Ready for PL.
Cheers,
This is well read. I do have one question, though. There are two bracketed statements in the text. One is in the beginning at 0:25. The other is toward the end at 3:41. The first one was skipped over, but not the second. Not sure why there were not treated the same, either both read or both left out. Admin advice?

Betsy
Ah, I think they both need to be in. They’re meant to be humorous asides, and are part of the essay. The idea being that the linotype man will decide which adjective more accurately describes the weather on the day of printing. If it’s read as just “this warm slash chilly morning,” that would be completely lost.

Thanks,
I will get the missed line put in. Thank you.

Welcome!

Midsummer in Salamis is yours. I've added you to the Librivox catalogue as tshoes76. If you'd like that changed later, just ask one of the admins to do that. Your catalogue page is here. You can also reach it by clicking on your name link in the Magic Window (the list of sections in the first post of every project). This is where you'll see all your recordings you've claimed or completed.

Read the first post carefully. It sets out what you need to know about what to name the file, what to say at the beginning and end, and how much silence is needed to open and close the recording.

I look forward to your first submission!

Cheers,
Winnifred

Posting “Midsummer in Salamis.” Duration 9:13.

This is my first recording, so please let me know if there’s something I should re-do or do differently next time.

(In naming the recording, there didn’t seem to be “section numbers” in the book itself, so I used the name of the essay.)

Thanks!

Thanks. That was quick!

The section number is the number that appears in the first row of the Magic Window. So this would be Section 27, and the file name should be powderofsympathy_27_morley_128kb. You can correct this if and when there are any other corrections to be made as a result of proof listening. (If there aren't any changes, we can ask our MC to correct it at cataloguing.)

Cheers,
Winnifred
