Sure thing!
These are our two short articles.

Recently took the grandkids to an aquarium, and their favorite thing was the tank where they could feel the rays -- so soft and gentle. :) I think they were bat rays.

Hi Larry,

You're probably right. I think I am way too eager to start.
Is there a number of words that you would suggest is a good range to start?

I'm now thinking of either Section 3 (1236 words) or Section 39 (2767 words).

I would love to go by a pseudonym, S.J. Weighed.

It has been a great Resurrection Day!

I've added you to the LibriVox catalog, as above, and assigned you Section 3. I think that is a good starting point. There will still be plenty to choose from once you get your first recording in the books.

Just click on your name in the Magic Window to view your personal reader page. This is where you can track all of your LV projects of which I hope there will be many!

WELCOME TO LIBRIVOX

Here's to my first recording! :)

Section 3: https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/zoology_03_ingersoll_128kb.mp3 (8:45)

I did save my project in Audacity as I am thinking I will have some corrections from the PL.

Great!
All tech specs are in order, and my quick sample of your narration sounds excellent.
Our DPL will have a full report for you soon./

It is good practice to save all of your recordings. One never knows when they might be needed.
Since I export them as .mp3 files, i just save them to a folder. Saving them as Audacity files is fine, but take up more space.

Anyway, great to have your first recording.
I think you would be safe in claiming more sections such as you feel comfortable taking on. :D

Hi Larry, I am just checking here. In the reading the chapters are different numbers than what's assigned. I am going by the titles. Do we say the chapter number that's assigned with the chapters we're reading or do we say the numbers that are named with the book? Thanks! Hope you're having a splendiferous day.

Ah, yes, this does get confusing.

Because I divided some of the longer chapters into smaller sections to make both reading and listening easier, the chapter numbers get out of sync with the section numbers. That is why we are using "section number" instead of "chapter number" for the intros and outros. So, for the intro read the section number as assigned in the magic window. Then when you begin the actual narration you can read the chapter number.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you for your interest in this project.

We do, however, request that our new readers first complete a one-minute test recording to check out all of your technical specifications and any reading issues.

New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!

Here is a direct link to instructions for the one-minute sample recording:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

Among the useful information there you will find instructions for completing your test recording. Once you have the "OK" on that, post again here and request one of the open sections. Let us know how you would like to be credited in the LibriVox catalog - real name, pseudonym or any nickname or handle you wish.
