my guess is an accidental click on the left-hand side, on the L-R slider. It changes the balance of the left-right volume so the resulting export is in stereo.
That’s possible. I’ll check it out next time I’m at my computer.

Thanks,
Winnifred

And that was exactly it! The R slider had moved to the right. As soon as I returned it to centre, everything worked as it should.

Because I artificially inflated the volume to get it within range (and just in case anything else has gone wrong), I've re-exported and reuploaded the file for Act 3, to be on the safe side: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/speckledband_mrsstaunton_3.mp3 (2:58).

Thanks,
Winnifred

Michelle, I found a repeat in my Sherlock file for Act 2. I've deleted it and re-uploaded. It was "It all comes back to me" at about 11.28. It's now 26min 12 secs.

Mr. Milverton:

N.B. on page 65, the first speech after "(Exit Billy and Milverton.)" is unattributed, but belongs to Holmes.

I'm happy to get to be a part of it, here is Billy-

3: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/speckledband_billy_3.mp3 (0 mins, 16 secs)

Struggled so much with that 'moran' pronunciation to match your guide, hopefully I got it in the end but it is so awkward to say it like that :?

PL Notes for the foreman act 1

There are some missing lines throughout. I have put all the lines below that should be said by the foreman.

'Don’t you think, Mr Coroner, if the young lady had designs upon herself she would have stayed in her room and not rushed out into the passage!

‘Well, sir, I will put Mr Armitage’s question in another shape. Can you tell us, miss, whether your stepfather ever ill used the deceased young lady?’

Jury all murmur
‘certainly, quite so’

‘May I ask, Dr Watson, whether you examined the window of the room to see if anyone from outside could have molested the lady’

‘Yes, but had it been bolted at night!’

‘Yes, that’s it. Was he violent!’

‘We are all ready, sir.’

‘We are for unknown causes.’
