PL Notes:
13:40 "alas dear carlos" s/b "alas dear Charles"
Hi Adrian
Can you note the dialogue above between myself and Agnes. I think Carlos should always be addressed as Carlos.
This text is inconsistent in the use of English and Spanish names, but I would like the Spanish names to be used.
Got it, Alan.

Act 2 is PL OK!

Act 4 PL notes:
at 1:10 missing line "Admit him then."
7:21-7:25 missed edit
7:42 "but he took only" should be "but he only took"
9:00 missing line "What then my——"
10:25 pronunciation "Aranjuez?" should be pronounced something like "a-ran-hweth"
11:44 missed edit "tis a harder task"
16:20 I hear "each breath day alarms me" s/b "each breath to-day alarms me"
17:43 missed edit "that fright"

Act 5 PL notes:
0:15 "the mighty deed" should be "the might dead" - i.e. deceased

Adrian

Alan & Adrian,

I do apologize for the "whine and cheese" festival I threw earlier. It has been a very tough week for a number of reasons. I just responded in a way I never do. I know you both said I did not need to apologize but I still felt you deserved better. As long as this part may be, it was my choice to claim it. We will get through!

Thank you both, again, for your kind encouragement.

Take care,

Greg
Hello Greg, Act 1 is now PL OK. Don't worry about your response, it only shows you are human. I've done *much* worse myself.
Although this is probably not the case, if the editing is a burden to you, I can give you a hand there.
Regards,
Adrian

What an impressive read. Full of passion, but read with precision.

Acts 1 and 2 are PL OK!
(optional) Act 3 1:30-1:35 a passing vehicle is heard, as it doesn't affect comprehension I'll mark it PL OK, but you might fix it if you want to.
Acts 4 and 5 are PL OK!

Best Regards,
Adrian Stephens

Thanks Beeswaxcandle and Adrian

This project has made great progress in the last few days mainly due to Adrian's brilliant PL work. All the roles for act 1 are OK as are all the roles for act 2 except the Page (anyone interested). I will start on the SD this week.

Thank you, Adrian. Your offer is most kind. The last few weeks in totality have been a perfect storm of issues unrelated to LV. I will be okay going forward. However, I shall keep you in mind if editing does become a challenge.

Thank you!

Here is Act 3 of Carlos:

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/doncarlos_carlos_3.mp3

Alan and Adrian,

Considering the length of every other act in which Carlos appears, I can't help but feel I may have missed some lines. Please advise.

A note to keep everyone updated. Since the arrival of Adrian this project has kicked into gear so, as I promised you, Alan, I have made this project my top priority. I have recorded all the lines for Acts 4 and 5. They, like Acts 1 and 2, are long files so will take me some time to edit. I assure you they will continue to be my priority!

Take care and may your week to come be a wonderful one!

Greg

Thank you, Greg. We've had a 2-year-old and his mother, our daughter staying for the last month. I drive them to Heathrow on Tuesday.
Things will be very quiet once they've gone.

I couldn't find any other lines either, so this one is PL OK.

Alan, I too the liberty of updating the MW without waiting for you to indicate ready for PL, but I won't touch the order of sections.

Adrian

Adrian,

Last week you commented that you had a two year old staying with you. I never responded.

I do think that Carlos is very much like a child trying to be a man. His swings in emotions are extreme. He is angry, paranoid, sad, all in one speech!

I am having a great time interpreting the character the way I see him. I imagine it must be working!

Anyway, thank you for confirming that I did not miss any lines in Act 3!

Take care,

Greg

Stage Directions for Act 1 are Ready for PL!

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/doncarlos_stagedirections_1.mp3
11.06

I have put all the SD for act 1 in a single file, if it turns out that the act needs to be split into more than one section I will provide the revised intros and outros as and when required.

As the text is inconsistent in it's spelling of characters names (Marquis de Posa/Marquis of Posa) I have tried to follow the names given in the Dramatis Personae as I think they may be closer to the Spanish names. I hope this doesn't make PLing too much more difficult.
