Thank you Agnes, very nicely read. I think you enjoyed the scene with Carlos.

PL Notes:
3:51 "please bring her" should be "pray bring her"
5:29 "can only venture this to the daughter of" s/b " ... venture this, this to ..."
13:40 "alas dear carlos" s/b "alas dear Charles"
15:24 "and waywardness, and pride,
The heart you lavish"
should be "and waywardness, and pride,
Attract you thus so madly to your mother!
The heart you lavish"
15:46 "fell strings of" s/b "fell stings of"

Regards,
Adrian

Hello Greg,
Did you upload the right file? The latest upload still has the error.
now 18:49 I hear "yawning precipice's brine" s/b "...brink"
Regards,
Adrian
This is becoming tiresome, my friend! 😀 Not you, me. I pride myself on making few errors. I know these two files were long and I did originally edit them late at night, still...well, I shall correct whatever happened and get this moving on.

Thank you,

Greg

I have noticed that I sometimes call Carlos by the name Charles. are these typos or not? the first instance is in act one, scene 5 a few pages into that act.
also my favorite typo I have noticed so far is in the stage directions where Dude of Alva is in one of the scenes

Hi Agnes
I think we will all need to use a bit of common sense with this text which full of typos. :(
Please always address Carlos as Carlos whatever the text says. This could be a nightmare to PL

Okay, third time is a charm! Here is Act One of "Carlos" with the final correction definitely included!

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/doncarlos_carlos_1.mp3

Alan & Adrian,

I do apologize for the "whine and cheese" festival I threw earlier. It has been a very tough week for a number of reasons. I just responded in a way I never do. I know you both said I did not need to apologize but I still felt you deserved better. As long as this part may be, it was my choice to claim it. We will get through!

Thank you both, again, for your kind encouragement.

Take care,

Greg

Hi Adrian
Can you note the dialogue above between myself and Agnes. I think Carlos should always be addressed as Carlos.
This text is inconsistent in the use of English and Spanish names, but I would like the Spanish names to be used.
