Thanks, Alan, I don't usually take on such large roles (except stage directions I guess) but I was really enjoying his character while I was skimming it for my editing notes and I was shocked no one had claimed him yet so I decided I would give it a go. Hopefully I did okay

Posa is a very large role but he is in many ways the most important character in the plot, even more than Carlos or the the King.
He is always my favourite character in Verdi's opera version of this play which I have seen several times.

Here you go, Alan, another two acts for the Marquis-

Act 2: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/doncarlos_marquis_2.mp3 (8 mins, 41 secs)
Act 3: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/doncarlos_marquis_3.mp3 (14 mins, 30 secs)

EDIT: I actually just realized in your second post you say you'd like some roles to be gender specific, including the Marquis. Did you still want me to be him?

Hi Inkell
Thanks for these, I will try to find time to PL them next week.
I did originally say that I prefered a male voice for Posa but as nobody had claimed the role before you did I changed my mind. I certainly intend to use your recordings particularly as you have put so much effort into recording them :D

I have noticed that I sometimes call Carlos by the name Charles. are these typos or not? the first instance is in act one, scene 5 a few pages into that act.

also my favorite typo I have noticed so far is in the stage directions where Dude of Alva is in one of the scenes

Hi Agnes
I think we will all need to use a bit of common sense with this text which full of typos. :(
Please always address Carlos as Carlos whatever the text says. This could be a nightmare to PL
