The Life of St. Paul, by James Stalker (1848 - 1927)

This project is complete! All files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-life-of-st-paul-by-james-stalker/
Born into privilege and highly educated by the most esteemed teacher of his time, Saul of Tarsus became a leading thinker among the Pharisees. His zeal for the "law" was such that he became the foremost persecutor of the new Christian sect, hauling many men, women and children off to prison or worse. After his conversion on the road to Damascus, he would often describe himself as the chief of sinners. Yet no other Apostle worked as hard as he or achieved so much in furthering the spread of the Gospel. (Summary by Ron Altman)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Chapter 1 is up: I get the feeling this project won't be as long as I anticipated. But that just means I can start on my next project all the sooner.....it'll be a book on the life of Martin Luther. Sound interesting?

Sections 3, 4 and 5:

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/lifeofstpaul_03_stalker_128kb.mp3 21:35
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/lifeofstpaul_04_stalker_128kb.mp3 31:12

This project will obviously take less time than I anticipated.....
I've read the paragraph numbers and headings. If you don't want those I can go back and remove them.
And chapter 6 is so long I've decided to split it into 3 parts; one for each of his Missionary Journeys. This will mean the addition of 2 more Sections in the MW.

Not unexpectedly, Chapters 1 and 2 are excellent recordings and both merit a PL OK.

Sorry for the delay in listening but I was away to Iowa and forgot to download the book to listen to on my phone on the flights. :(

The author presents some interesting ideas that I had never really thought about before.

Thanks for the opportunity to listen.

No problem for me with the paragraph headings. And I appreciate short chapters. :)
