IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

The amazing Anne will be MC. Anne, I've put the links below but I'll add them in the metadata. How long a bio would you prefer to add to the new author page? This is how long the first paragraph of wiki is:

José Santos Chocano Gastañodi (May 14, 1875 – December 13, 1934), more commonly known by his pseudonym "El Cantor de América" (Spanish pronunciation: [tʃoˈkano]), was a Peruvian poet, writer and diplomat, whose work was widely praised across Europe and Latin America. Considered by many to be one of the most important Spanish-American poets, his poetry of grandiloquent tone was very sonorous and full of color.

Five poems are ready for PL. Tonally this will be a shift away from the last project, but I hope it will be a welcome exposure to an unrecorded poet.

Oh my, these are beautiful poems. And so sensitively and elegantly read. I'm so glad you're doing this!

Sections 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 are PL OK.

Section 3-6 are ready for PL. Thank you for the kind words! I found several poets from Central and South America who had been translated into English, and it seemed that their work (and the translators') ought to have another outing. Of course, once I started pulling at that particular thread more poets surfaced, so it will take a while to get to everybody. They all wrote, or were translated, in such different schools of poetry, that I hope it will represent a nice cross-section of the literary scene at the time.

Most of all, it's very nice having you along as DPL, and I'm glad I didn't frighten you off after your first project!

Thank you for your help and your time, Bruce. I can go down some odd byways with forgotten authors, so I appreciate you accompanying me on this one.

Anne, before you press whatever buttons are necessary, I'd like to make sure I've done this correctly: in the metadata I've entered the author and the text link but not the language, which I'd already set as English in the project template. I think that means it's all present and correct, but it's better to say so now rather than later.

Yes, that photo of him really is something, isn't it? If you really want to go down a wikipedia rabbit hole, there will be some cracking author images in this series.

Thank you again, Bruce and Anne, for bringing this author back to life!
