What is a Click?

I read much about Click Removal, and that clicks are bad .... but what is a click? English is not my mother tongue and I don't understand. Aslo I don't speak Audacity, lol. guess the German word would be Klick, but how should a Klick come into a soundfile, I wonder? I may have a problem I didn't adress yet.

Clicks are noises in a recording that are distraction. A mouse click is one such click, but there are other examples of noises in the background of a recording that sound like a loud click. if you snap your fingers that or bump your mouse, both of these might result in a click. You can typically see them as well as hear them as they will appear as a tall sharp peak in the recording. Words starting with hard consonants - like hard c, k, g, etc - can also result in a click as can other mouth noises. If you can hear them, and they are distracting then it's good to try and remove them.

Ein Klick in diesem Sinn ist ein Klickgeräusch. Solche Klickgeräusche können durch Speichel im Mund entstehen, zum Beispiel wenn die Zunge sich vom Mundboden oder von der Munddecke löst.
Am besten ist es natürlich, wenn man sie von vornherein vermeidet, zum Beispiel indem man an einem Tag, wo man vorliest, in den Stunden davor ausreichend trinkt und beim Vorlesen darauf achtet, dass der Mund nicht zu trocken oder feucht (= direkt nach dem Trinken) ist.
