Tomorrow is the 12th anniversary of my joining LibriVox
belated congrats :birthday: 12 years is a long time

As for your story, oh, how tragic. But how could this man raise the child before him  Excellently narrated, only one small bit missing:

> at 0:31: could you please repeat "Section 5" before the title here ?

the rest was perfect, thanks

A very long one but it had such a strong opening I just had to see where it went
woah, yes this beginning was very powerful. Buried alive is an unthinkable horror  a really gripping story and with a happy ending. Though I would have loved to hear more about the group that actually made the imprisonments and their motivations. :hmm:

But excellently read, I only found one small error which would benefit from correcting:

> at 14:33: (p. 30) "or otherwise displease" - you say "displeasure"

thanks

now that one was a funny story  yes a small typo can have a big meaning change ! a wonderfully entertaining story. Thanks

Just two small edits:

> at 9:14: (p. 19) "of the usual allusions to the weather" - you say "unusual"
> at 17:11: (p. 22) "partly from fear that the old fiend's scheme" - you say "man", probably optional, but maybe "fiend" is more powerful in this context

Try this: https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/blackcat0402nov1898_3_various_128kb.mp3

And I agree, it was good but I felt like it could've benefited from being a bit longer and given time to flesh things like that out a bit more.

Oh and welcome back! I hope you had a nice trip

Here is Part 2 with both requested corrections (I agree that the original word "fiend" is more powerful - I don't quite kno2 how I changed that to "man"):

The Pillow of Justice? Sounds like a Mike Lindell-financed superhero movie.

indeed, reminds me of the old action movies set in India and other exotic places. An intriguing story and very engagingly narrated, I loved it. Thanks

A few small edits to make still:

> from 0:24 to 0:31: the footnote can be cut, no need to include this, as it's not part of the story

> from 5:06 to 5:07: (p. 3) between "sword out of his hand" and "dagger out of his sash" - considering it's all one sentence, this silence feels a bit long and makes the sentence sound strange grammatically

> at 9:32: (p. 5) "which had so tormented him" - you say "tortured"

> at 14:09: (p. 8) repeat, can be cut "his eyes were shifty and his mouth a little cruel but these expressions are not unusual"

> from 29:04 to 29:06: between "and his beautiful wife" and "end of section 1" - maybe the long silence can also be cut a bit here
