Lolly Willowes: or, the loving huntsman, by Sylvia Townsend Warner (1893 - 1978)

Volunteers outside the USA: Sylvia Townsend Warner died in 1978. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 70 years for authors who died after 1971; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.
After the death of her father, Laura Willowes moves in with her brother and his wife where she is burdened with her new role as Aunt Lolly. After living with them for years and realizing her own unhappiness she suddenly decides to move to Great Mop, a small unassuming village in the countryside. There she makes a deal with the devil, a loving guardian and watcher-over of dissatisfied souls, and becomes a witch as she continues to fight off the persona of Aunt Lolly as it attempts to reclaim her. IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I put three for the number of sections because the book contains three parts but they are kind of long so we will likely need more than three sections, I would estimate about three per part so probably nine total.

Also I meant to put under genre: Satire, Fiction Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Literary Fiction

Magic Window (MW) is in place. I started it off with 9 sections, and we can add or remove as we go.

As the soloist, you're in charge of it, so here's all you need to know about the Magic Window:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Soloists:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window

To gain access you'll need to set up your own password. Start with "Accessing the System – First Time Login" to create your password.
Once you have an MW password, you can use it for the uploader, too (forum name + MW password).

It's a lot of information, so please ask if anything is unclear or if you're having trouble creating your password. Basically, you fill in the Section titles, and whenever you upload a recording, you put the duration in the Notes field, enter the file url, and mark it Ready for PL in the last column. Then also post in the thread that you've added new files in the Magic Window, so that all project activity is recorded in the forum.

It's a bit tricky that the let's say chapters are called "Part #" and you'd need to further divide those. How to call those subdivisions in the section titles.... The other running project suggests, Part I, Part I continued, etc. Did you have any other suggestions?

Thanks for being my MC Rapunzelina!

I think doing Part 1, Part 1 continued, etc seems like a good way to do it to me but I'll let you know if I think of anything better.

I got my MW login set up and I've read the Wiki page so I think I have a good idea of what I need to be doing. I feel pretty good about doing all this with all the info that is provided but I'll be sure to let you know if I'm confused about anything!

You're very welcome!

I shortened the filename a bit and moved us to Going Solo!

Have fun with your project

Super! I'll move this recording into my "current projects" menu! I mostly rely on the MW, but you can always catch my attention in a text when my name is included.

Rapunzelina and Betsy, I have finished my first recording and have uploaded it to the magic window. I checked the specifications and the volume is at the correct db so it should be ready for you to go ahead and give it a listen!

Well done! The only thing missing: when you add a file in the Magic Window, also change the last column to "Ready for PL". I've changed this one now as an example
