Over the Ocean to Paris, or, Ted Scott's Daring Long Distance Flight, by Franklin W. Dixon (1902 - 1977)

Volunteers outside the USA: Franklin W. Dixon died in 1977. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 70 years for authors who died after 1971; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.
Ted Scott is a young man who seems born to be an aviator. He comes from an humble background, fostered by an elderly couple who know little about flying and who are fearful for their boy. Ted Scott overcomes any obstacle in his way, learns to fly, and gains fame for his skillful aerial stunts. His next goal is to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean and be the first to fly non-stop from New York to Paris. (Summary by KevinS)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I will MC this for you. As soon as I add the MW, I will move our team to Going Solo. I changed the capitalization on the title. Archive got that wrong.

I also changed the text citation. It is usual to make the link go to the cover of the book.

Thank you. I mistakenly thought one had to show the copyright date.

It turns out, there is no rule. Unlike with Gutenberg. I like seeing the old covers. As a result, you can leave it as it is or change it back.

Let's leave things as you have suggested. The old covers ARE nice.

And you're off to a great start with 2 PL OK chapters.

I agree 100% with Mark's views of flying. He uses my exact argument.

I sure hope good things happen to Ebon and the opposite to Gale. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Two thumbs up for the first two chapters.

I never liked to fly unless a nun was on the plane.

Thank you!
