If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi, Verla

Section 1 is PL OK

I do love his writing, and the content is compelling, isn't it?

Thanks for the quick PL! I really appreciate that.

Yes, it's interesting to see the parallels with current race issues. My favorite line was when he said something like some of their best Southerners are Northerners.

Hoping for section 2 today. We'll see how things go.

Good morning :)

For Section 2 I have only one courtesy note. (Please tell me if you don't care for these, if you only want notes on things that break LV parameters.)

At 25:47, if you blow the track up, you'll see where the rolling r's bit gets significantly louder than everything around it. It was enough of a jump to actually hurt the ears, and your reading is so beautiful, I thought you might like the chance to de-amplify that bit.

It is very interesting to hear Du Bois's perspective through his characters.

Yes, please give courtesy notes!!! I will feel free to say no if I choose not to address something.

I deamplified it by 5, so it should be much better. Please take a listen and let me know if that's enough.

Yes, the story is shaping up to be very interesting. I can't wait to see where DuBois takes it.

And thank you for the compliment on my reading. Like everyone, I suppose, I lack confidence. I even quit recording for quite awhile because I thought I wasn't good enough. My wife convinced me otherwise. I'm glad, because I really do love it.

Well, she was correct! Glad you came back to it. :) If you ever feel like dabbling in some dramatic reading character roles or bit parts, I bet you'd be great with that, too.

Perfect now with that one spot on Section 2. I've toggled it to PL OK
