Homilies on Second Corinthians , by St. John Chrysostom (c. 349 - c. 407), translated by John Henry Parker
The present Volume completes the set of St. Chrysostom's Commentaries on the Epistles of St. Paul, with the exception of that to the Hebrews, the Translation of which is preparing for the press. The edition of the original by Mr. Field has afforded the advantage of an improved text, in fact of one as good as we can hope to see constructed from existing Mss. These Homilies were delivered at Antioch in the opinion of the Benedictine Editors, though Savile doubted it. The question depends on the interpretation of a passage near the end of Hom. xxvi. in which St. Chrysostom speaks of Constantinople, and presently says 'here.' This, it has been rightly argued, he might say in the sense of ' in the place I am speaking of,' while he was not likely to say 'in Constantinople,' if he were speaking there.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi Sister! It will be nice to work with you again on St John Chrysostom! OK, your MW is ready, and InTheDesert has access to the MW as our DPL (thank you!). I did do a little bit of tidying up of the first post, just to get some things similar to the other Chrysostom commentaries that have been done. Mostly, it was just the file name. We will move tomorrow sometime, and, I am not in a hurry for longer projects to finish up. Take all the time you need, especially since Chrysostom can be quite meaty, in a good way!

Romans is launched. I'll follow your pace such that both projects finish at the same time. I don't mind if we go fast or slow :)

I'm glad you don't mind fast or slow, because I've been on the slow side lately. I'm going to have to measure these sections to find a good length for reading and listening.

Peace be with you,

Section 3 PL Notes:
  • 00:00 Note (no change needed): There were ID3 tags on this file. These are cleared and re-added at cataloging so you could save yourself some time by not adding them at export time.
  • 19:19 Repeat (Many also received the boon)

Thank you! The recording is ready for spot PL. As for the ID3 tags, is that the same as the Metadata Tags? I've always added them so that the files show up in my car (and on my computer) the way I want them. When people do something different, the display in the car doesn't always tell me what the recording is. Does this make sense? I seem to remember that LV changed how that works. At first, it was required.
And, now I have a cold again (the second of the new year) so I'll be absent for at least a week.

Peace be with you,

Yup, it's the metadata tags. You're welcome to add them for your own use, it's just that no one else will see what you enter when it is catalogued because it gets cleared and re-added. Just mentioning it.
