The Ode to Pegasus
By Maria Moravsky
From Weird Tales, November, 1926
Read by Dale Grothmann
Time 15:26

Audio at:https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor072_pegassis_moravski_dg_128kb.mp3

Text at: https://archive.org/details/WeirdTalesV08N05192611/page/n83/mode/2up

The last line -- "It was only his body worn to death by the tiresome realities of life." Makes this a Ghost story, but a very gentle one.
Enjoy

Dale
Thank you, Dale! It's a gentle and sad ghost story! PL OK!

Hi again,

I've tried a second one, it was on the list from the forum so I thought I'd try my hand. Any issues please let me know.

Thanks again,

James

Thank you, James!

Let me start by praising your narration skills once more! In this one especially, your character voices shine through!

Which text source did you use, in case the one I'm checking is not exactly the same. Because I have the following PL notes (Proof-Listening notes)

- around 8:50 text is "a Pilgrim’s Progress", I think I hear process instead
- around 15:05, would you be able to add the phrase "them can’t be niggers", at Librivox we make a point of presenting the text exactly as was written.

Coincidentally there are some similarities to the story Ben contributed earlier "The Hermit of Ghost Mountain" who was drinking blood to live longer and longer!

Thank you, Yoganandh!

PL notes: there's a repetition of "When she awoke" at around 5:55.
Could you also add the author's name after the title at the very beginning? "The Closing Hand by Farnsworth Wright"

I've just done a read through of a Charles Dickens ghost story and it's WAY LONG! I think when I last read my
choice for a collection the rule was, not over thirty minutes? Does that apply here as well? I may not record it
anyway, it's a bit weird...but would like to know for future choices.

You can offer any duration ghost or horror story; in one file if up to 74 minutes long, or split in two files if longer :D

The 74 minutes limit is so as to fit in an audio CD for listeners that use them.

Hi, sorry that took so long. I've made the amendments as requested I hope they're right for you.

For reference, I read the story from:
