The True History of Pepper's Ghost, by John Henry Pepper (1821 - 1900)
This work portrays the true history of the illusionary tactic known as "Pepper's Ghost." This is a method of projecting an actor onto a stage using a sheet of glass and clever lighting. Thus the actor is able to appear on stage as a ghostly apparition while still acting alongside other actors and actresses. The ghost effect was received with amazement by the public and it is said that many returned to the theater repeatedly in attempt to work out the method. (Summary by Anthony Karl Futterer)

I can set this up.

Edit: ready to go.
I'd recommend shortening the file name.

Thanks Lynnet! It will be great to work together again.

I was not sure I could shorten the name of this since it is the name from PG... Please advise if I have this wrong. In which case I would just call it "The True History of The Ghost".

Thanks! I will populate the mw.

Actually, it appears the image of the book shows the title as "The True History of Pepper's Ghost", which is far more informative and punctual. How do I change it though. I am worried that if I change the title of the post and all iterations of the words in the body of the project text, this will change the upload file names. Will this case an issue?

I made the change. Please advise if anything must be done differently...like a new launch page or something like that. Thanks!

Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner…
You can change it to whatever you want before files are submitted. It’s more complicated later. What you have is ok, but I’d have gone with the even shorter peppersghost

The thing is, particularly with group projects, you want to make it so there is the minimum opportunity for readers to get it wrong. I personally use the copy and paste method to avoid this, but many readers try just typing in what may or may not be correct  and it can get really messy. Years ago, there was a limit of 8 characters. That’s no longer the case, but shorter is better.

I'll happily claim section 1! I can handle a short section right now :)

I just need a bit of clarification. section 1 and section 2 appear to start in the same place? Before I read the magic window I would have thought section 1 was the dedication letter before "THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE GHOST" started.

What lines does section 1 begin and end with?

Thank you! I have assigned you the section. I have also updated the mw correctly for this section. It is only the introductory letter as it appears before pg1 of the book. Thanks for pointing out the error.

I'd like to tackle sections 4, 5, and 6. Already have 4 recorded actually, as I needed something to use for testing a modified recording setup :)
