The Treasure-Train, by Arthur B. Reeve (1880 - 1936)

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

https://librivox.org/the-treasure-train-by-arthur-b-reeve/

There have been many novels written by Arthur B. Reeve that feature the character of Craig Kennedy.

Kennedy is a detective that employs his knowledge of science, medicine and criminology to solve multiple cases of murder and mystery that are documented by his side-kick Walter Jameson, a journalist.

In this case we have a series of short stories that test his skills to the limit. They take him to different parts of the world and confront him with new challenges along the way. Of course he is always up to a challenge! (Summary by Howard Skyman)

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi Sati. Chapter 4 (38:18) is ready for PL. However you will note as you listen to it that I have taken the liberty of describing an alphabetic table that is included in the story rather than narrating it. I didn't see any other way to deal with it. Please let me know if this is appropriate or if you wish to bounce it off Jo first. Whatever you two decide I will be glad to comply with.

Secondly, at one point (09:56), there's a slight issue with the word "accent", and it doesn't sound quite right. While I'm unsure if it needs an amendment.
