I have been told recently by my ENT, that I have a paralyzed left vocal cord, just an FYI. Please let me know if any changes need made. thanks
Hi Aly36! I hope that paralyzed vocal cord isn't too painful, and great job with your recording! Your first one was nicely done too, but it's wonderful to hear your confidence increasing as you're finding your rhythm with recording. Keep it up! :)

Just a few edits please:

Around 16:18 - heard "I brawled at her in a voice..." should be "I bawled at her in a voice..."
Around 10:50 - heard "Mr. Cairns scooped down..." should be "Mr. Cairns stooped down..."
Around 3:52 - heard "blue-eyed puckered face and slanty blue eyes..." should be "blue-eyed puckered face and slatey (slay-tee) blue eyes"
Cheers,
Claire

Hi Claire,
My paralyzed vocal cord is not painful at all. I didn't know for almost 10 years but once I started voice over I knew my voice was not the same as high school and my breathing is off too, so I went to find out why. I am glad it does not hurt. Thank you for your review for section 9. I will fix and get it back to you. I was hoping to sound better, thank you so much for your kind works.

Hi, I am new to recording! So, I have a few mistakes. I haven't figured out how to edit on Audacity yet. What do people usually do- record in segments and combine to reduce errors or do they record the whole thing and edit mistakes out later?

There was a page in the forum that has a link to editing instructions for Audacity but I couldn't find it again.

Here is the recording I made: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/riddleandotherstories_10_delamare_128kb.mp3

Its 8 min 31 sec. I'm open to suggestions and feedback. Thank you for your patience with newbies :)

Here's lots of videos that should help with editing in Audacity: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Instructional_Videos#Help_with_AUDACITY_A_few_short_videos_about_this_great_editing_program

I definitely wouldn't suggest recording the whole thing all over again (after all, you could always introduce new errors). Audacity is actually pretty easy to edit in once you figure out your way around it. The videos above should definitely help!

It looks like there may be a high level of background noise in the track. Can you apply noise reduction and reupload? Here's a handy short video that shows you how to do it:

Great job with the edits. Spot PL OK! Apologies for the delay in reviewing. I'm so glad there's no pain associated! I hope it heals soon!
Cheers,
Claire

Hi there! Welcome to Librivox and thank you for submitting your recording. Your tone and pacing sound great!

It appears the first 5 pages are missing though. The story starts on page 169, ("The street was narrow...")but the recording picks up from page 174. The good news is that the portion that has been submitted was great, and no changes are needed to it. Once the missing portion has been added, please resubmit the recording, under the same file name, and post a reply to this thread so I can go back and listen to the first portion.

Thanks!
Cheers,
Claire

If not already claimed, may I have sections 01 and 02? I have already recorded my section 08 and will be editing soon.
