Poems of Conformity, by Charles Williams (1886 - 1945)

Charles Williams was one of The Inklings, an Oxford based group of writers which included J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Although Williams' poetry was mainly influenced by his deeply held Christian faith he also had a great knowledge of and respect for the ideas and values of the classical world.

Deadline: Please submit your recording within 1 month of placing your claim. Leave 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning.

For the first section say:

At end of recording say:
"End of poem." [Optional, and if not stated in the intro: "Read by your name."]
For subsequent sections say:

Done, we are now over in Short Works.

When I was a lad, Hot Cross Buns were an Easter thing, but now they are to be found intermittently in stores throughout the year.
