The Town Before You, by Hannah Cowley (1743 - 1809)
Impoverished Lords. Rich Lords and Ladies with no sense; other folk with Big Plans. Charlatans. Fools. Buffoons. Disguises. Clever Wives and cleverer Servants. A good time will be had by all in this 1795 comedy.
(Summary by ToddHW)
Another by Cowley. Enjoy.

Kitty again will make sure you mind your f's and s's. And, as a reward, she gets me as a long suffering husband to belittle....

Mrs Fancourt and DPL placing a cookie crumb. :) Looking forward to this one, it has every ingredient I like: crossdressing, witty remarks, getting the better of Todd....

thank you, Allie, first role in  and wow, Jenny is a saucy little schemer. Excellently done, your mischievous tone of voice fits brilliantly. Loved it.

Act 4 can be marked PL ok right away.

I do have a few small edits for the other acts though:

Act 1:
> at 0:17: (p. 11) "and wiping band boxes" – could you check please, I hear "brand" :hmm:

Act 3:
> at 0:39: (p. 50) "and rich damask curtains" - I hear a stumble and repeat of "rich"

> at 1:26: (p. 51) "on Fish-Street-Hill" – you say "fiff"

Act 5:
> at 2:40: (p. 96) "what it is for sixty to have the impudence to slight five and twenty" – you say "fifty" and the second word I don't hear well, but it's something like "to thought" I think, could you check once again please ?

> at 2:46: (p. 96) "I have wasted as many tender blushes" – you say "walked"

thanks
