FULL[PLAY]The Town Before You by Cowley - thw
Thank you.

Hmm, oh gifted player of Mrs. Fancourt. Normally in our little plays, I have given you no excuse whatsoever for treating me continuously with all the ill-will you can muster. I have been in the right, and more deserved of the attitude of "he is my husband: I therefore follow without a murmur" than the contempt I have been met with.
But I see that in this play, I am an out and out CAD of the first order, and have little reason to be left alive upon this earth. All of the abuse you could heap upon me would be well deserved. Forgive me: I am wrong. I treat you poorly. And you suffer with such grace. I am no longer worthy to be called "the Prince among Men".
PL OK.

already the corrections for Act 1 were excellent, and PL ok now.
Here in act 2 I only found one small edit to make:
> at 2:36: (p. 25) "Fancourt, running towards him" – another instance where we need the character name, as it might be ambiguous that Floyer, who just came in, was meant else
the rest was impeccable

I didn't expect such high praise and self-chastising at the same time. thank youToddHW wrote: ↑December 5th, 2023, 1:54 pmHmm, oh gifted player of Mrs. Fancourt. I agree, Fancourt is a cad, but I'm sure you will do a perfect job of it and already I'm looking forward to that performance. The nasties are often the coolest roles
Also: I believe you were the "king among men" it had to be said once again. You definitely fell from your throne in this play.

Thank you for the praise! I've uploaded the corrected Act 2, now 07:29.Kitty wrote: ↑December 6th, 2023, 1:46 amthank you TinaTrLove wrote: ↑December 5th, 2023, 12:13 pmHere are Stage Directions for Act Two, 07:28.

you're prolific, thank you so much for getting these in quickly.TrLove wrote: ↑December 7th, 2023, 10:47 amHere are the Stage Directions for Act 3, 06:40.

This time there were a few more names missing. The problem with the old scripts is that often they have the "aside" at the wrong place, so the main challenge if to assess which sentence it belongs to. I sorted the ones out for you which need the names:
> at 2:07: (p. 43) "Georgina with a determined air" - name needs to be included
> at 2:45: (p. 45) "Lady Horatia, greatly alarmed" - same here
> at 3:20: (p. 46) "Sir Robert" - can be cut as there are no stage directions following
> at 3:40: (p. 47) "Fancourt, aside" - name needs to be included
> at 4:19: (p. 49) "Fancourt, significantly aside" - same here
> at 4:34: (p. 50) between "aside" and "exit" you could leave a bit more space, since the last sentence needs to get in between (easier for Todd to edit if there is more space)
> at 4:55: (p. 51) "Jenny, aside" - name to be included
> at 4:59: (p. 51) "Jenny aside petulantly" - same here
> at 5:08: (p. 51) "Jenny aside" - same here
