Duration is 38:50
Thank you
Hello! Great job, and just two edits please:

Around 37:51 - repeat 3x of "We took on coconuts and coffee, the loaders moving with that listless and supine air of having no goal for their efforts. To each of Hogarth’s scorching expletives our own men responded with a fresh burst of speed..."

Opening - With each recording we want to be sure to say the full opening that's on page 1 of thread under the MW. I've also copied it below for reference.

"Section 11 of The Thrill Book Vol. I No. 5. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." [Optional: "Read by your name."] "The Thrill Book Vol. I No. 5. The Devil's Own by Chester L. Saxby"
Cheers,
Claire

libvox53 wrote: January 20th, 2024, 11:02 pm Hi,
I took the liberty of fixing the mistakes in my recording. Mainly relaced "end of chapter 3" with "end of Section 12". Took out some clip marks and raised the volume appropriately. And I changed 1 Yevel for Hevel towards the end. This completes my knowlege of this recording. I still ask someone to PL them and offer many thanks. Here is Section 12.

Wow, what a cliffhanger! I hope we see the conclusion in Volume 6 if that gets recorded in the future.

Another good job with your reading. Just a few edits please:

Around 3:29 - heard " rearing, yawning wide when the rudder..." should be " rearing, yawing wide when the rudder..."

Opening - With each recording we want to be sure to say the full opening that's on page 1 of thread under the MW. I've also copied it below for reference.

"Section 12 of The Thrill Book Vol. I No. 5. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." [Optional: "Read by your name."] "The Thrill Book Vol. I No. 5. The Devil's Own by Chester L. Saxby"

I saw a remark in a different reply that you were concerned about your recordings sounding choppy. Unfortunately, it's very hard to modulate our voices to be exactly the same as when we originally recorded. The edits you have made only stand out a very small amount, and it's not anything that needs to be redone. One tip I can give you is if you're editing and notice you've missed a word within a sentence, don't just record that one word. Try recording a portion of the section that word falls into, so there won't be just one word that stands out different from the rest of recording. You could try it with this recording with the edit around 3:29 and see if you like it.

If you still want any corrections to sound in line with your original recording, you could also consider starting the recording and not stopping until you're at the end of the section. That way, as any errors occur, you repeat them right then and there as you're reading. When you go back to edit, you'll be able to delete the errors, and you'll still have the correct version right there.

As you continue on, you'll find out what style works best for you! Just continue to have fun :)
Cheers,
Claire

Chapter 13 1:39 The Dummy and the Ventriloquist
Hi Doreen! What a creepy poem, eek! Great job!

I've marked PL OK, however if you want to, I'd recommend adjusting your outro to 'End of Section 13' to keep consistent with your intro, which also states section. If you do decide to make that change, please post if you do upload the modified file so I can do a quick spot check.
Cheers,
Claire

Hi Doreen! Who would think the two shortest poems would be two of the creepiest?! Great job!

I've marked PL OK, however if you want to, I'd recommend adjusting your outro to 'End of Section 14' to keep consistent with your intro, which also states section. If you do decide to make that change, please post if you do upload the modified file so I can do a quick spot check.

Since this one is getting fairly close to finishing, I'm actually planning to launch issue 6 within the next couple of weeks. So you will definitely see the conclusion! I plan to do the whole run of 16 issues of Thrill Book eventually.

OK I think I've fixed it, only replacing what was asked. I could tell this story was a banger right away.
